It is reported that the Ministry of Justice will add £10m to the UK's publicly funded mediation budget in 2012. Following the Jackson review with its spotlight on litigation costs, mediation is increasingly seen as a simpler, faster and more cost effective way to resolve disputes. Section III of CPR 78 which came into effect on 6th April 2011 made the content of a written mediation agreement, made following a cross-border dispute, enforceable. These developments make it essential that you are fully up to date on this increasingly important area of law.
